Bio:

Aaron Smith is a photographer whose lifestyle and sports imagery is built on a foundation of skateboard photography, helping his client partners bring their creative brand visions to life.

A few facts about Aaron: he grew up in Kansas City, and at 13 he picked up his first skateboard. Soon after, he got his first camera, and the two blended together right away. He spent all of high school skating and shooting his friends, and his work landed in the skate magazines he grew up reading while he was still a student. He went on to the Savannah College of Art and Design, where the pull back toward skateboarding was so strong that he transferred to the Atlanta campus and turned in skate photos for every assignment he could. After graduating, he and his wife moved to California, and he worked every contact he had until he landed a staff photographer position at Skateboarder Magazine, the very first magazine he ever subscribed to as a kid. It was a crazy full circle, one that sent him around the world with the skateboarders he grew up watching.

When the magazine folded, Aaron carried everything he had learned into lifestyle and sports advertising, and he has worked with some of the biggest companies in the world. His background gives him a different way of seeing: unique angles, getting up close to the action, and hopping fences for the shot are nothing new to him. The collaboration with his crew, agencies, and clients is a big part of what he loves, and he still gets that first-day-of-school feeling whenever he's on set.

Aaron lives in Ventura County, outside of Los Angeles, with his wife and their dog, Milo. When he's not on set or behind the computer, you'll find him skateboarding, running, cycling, shooting archery, or doing his best to be a handyman around the house.
